The City of Mt. Pleasant has planned the growth of its area. Fearful of growing too rapidly and without the proper infrastructure, a moratorium on building permits has been put into place several times. The city services have grown to help meet the demand, but the recent construction of thousands of residents in rental properties as well as homes will certainly make an impact.
In determining how Mt. Pleasant expands, a plan was set in place for the major routes that crisscross Mt. Pleasant. One such plan includes the revitalization of Coleman Boulevard.
