Daniel Island is the perfectly planned island community that has become part of Charleston, in spite of the separating distance of 23 miles of rivers, marshes and creeks.

The island is divided into two major sections by the town of Daniel Island. On the golf course side one finds beautiful and large custom homes in Daniel Island Park. Many of these homes have golf amenities attached, but a social membership is always available. The Daniel Island Club is an equity club.

On the other side of the island is where one finds the schools and great neighborhoods for kids to walk or bike to those schools. Smythe Park might be the most popular neighborhood on the school side of the island.

Once an isolated farm and game preserve, Daniel Island was molded into the exclusive suburb that it is today, offering a private nationally-ranked, 18-hole Tom Fazio golf course, a second 18-hole new Rees Jones course, and private country club facility.  Also offered is a 17-court tennis center that is home to the Family Circle Cup, and a well-appointed activity center with exercise classes and workout facility. The island features community boat ramps and crabbing docks, acres of parks, a private nature preserve, plus a chic commercial district that features upscale shopping and rave restaurants.

The modern amenities on Daniel Island have been blended with the coastal scenery of South Carolina. The island features golf, boat ramps and crabbing docks, as well as hundreds of acres of parks and a private nature preserve, plus a limited commercial district featuring upscale shopping and cozy restaurants. Six traditional neighborhoods offer a variety of well-planned construction.

Daniel Island is located off Highway 526 and conveniently located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Charleston and 20 minutes from the Isle of Palms beachfront. The convenient 15 minute proximity of The Charleston International Airport makes the Daniel Island community convenient for Boeing employees. This southern island town is technically within the City of Charleston but boasts its very own infrastructure of township with its own churches, grocery stores, doctor offices, schools, golf courses and amenities galore. If you can imagine a picture perfect old fashioned town with the conveniences of today, that is Daniel Island. It's a picturesque place with homes ranging from affordable condos to high end luxury properties on the waterfront. The downloadable addendums are needed for closing a property within this community. The Daniel Island Addendum and the Community Addendum.
