JAMES ISLAND AND WEST ASHLEY CONDOMINIUMS

On James Island, there are also many apartment buildings that have been renovated and turned into condominiums as well as new condo properties. The conversions typically are less soundproof and therefore usually less expensive. The Albemarle and Arboretum  are in West Ashley and were built as condos. The Regatta, Retreat, and Mira Vista  are on James Island.

These condos are just five minutes across the Ashley River from historic Charleston, James Island offers a feel of the country close to the heart of downtown and features James Island County Park with its climbing towers, paddling courses, skating boulevards, and biking paths, the outdoor adventures abound with a municipal golf course, numerous public boat ramps and the fishing pier and surf of Folly Beach nearby where Oceanfront Villas offers condo lovers views of the ocean at the beach.

James Island condominiums offer all the advantages of the island location with maintenance-free lifestyle. At Wappoo Creek Place, just minutes from downtown Charleston, units have stunning views of sunsets over the intracoastal waterway. With private garage, gated patios, and separate living room, dining room and sunroom.

Wappoo Landing condominiums, built in 2003, feature similar gorgeous marsh views along the intracoastal waterway, as well as tile bathrooms, wood floors up and downstairs, stainless steel appliances, a private garage and a community dock on Wappoo Creek.

Mira Vista condominiums offer crown moldings, ten-foot ceilings, and a swimming pool, this stylish community. Originally apartments converted to condos, the lack of building standards showed the results of environmental stress quickly and in 2012 were negotiating extensive repairs for the complex. Roofs and flashings seem to be the most prevalent problems.
